"Sharon Lindo plays absolutely terrific violin..." Lute Society Review
After leaving the Guildhall where I studied with David Takeno I then specialised, playing Baroque violin with Catherine Mackintosh and later with Richard Gwilt. I now enjoy exploring different styles of music, leading me to performances in venues and festivals as diverse as the Bruges Early Music Festival, Sidmouth Folk Festival and even Glastonbury!
I have worked with many of the country's leading Early Music ensembles including The Sixteen, Consort of Musicke, His Majesty's Sagbutts and Cornetts, The Broadside band and the Dufay Collective ; I am a principle player with Devon Baroque and I lead Marches Baroque orchestra based in Hereford Cathedral. The lighter side of Early Music I explore with Tarleton's Jig.
I am a tutor for Baroque strings at Hawkwood College in Stroud and I have directed workshops in Baroque playing for Bath Spa University, as well as teaching private students.
With the New Scorpion Band I play and sing traditional music from the British Isles and Ireland, whereas I indulge my romantic side with the Tivoli Café Band, jazz with Frenesi and something wilder with Mule!
